Sept. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- CARLISLE, PA – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Many people and organizations across America will be asking you to “Think Pink” in the month ahead.  But Project Earth H2O believes breast cancer is something you should think about everyday.  The Carlisle-based company has announced it will donate $2 of every Get Pink™ bottle it sells to breast cancer research.

This ongoing effort is Brian Denton’s idea. Denton founded Project Earth H2O (http://www.projectearthh2o.com) with the goal of eliminating single-use water bottles.  He realized something needed to be done in response to the nation’s insatiable thirst for bottled water.   The thought of some 38 billion single-use bottles ending up in landfills each year lead Denton to create a reusable stainless steel bottle that’s intended to last.  The bottles, which hold 27 ounces, come in four colors; blue, silver, green and now pink.

“I never considered a pink bottle – being a man and all – but then it hit me.  Between 85 and 90% of our customers are women,” Denton says.  “Then I thought about the BPA link in many popular plastic water bottles and it became a no-brainer.”

Bisphenol-A (BPA) is a toxic chemical commonly found in many plastic products, including some water bottles.  The chemical has been linked to a wide range of diseases, including breast and uterine cancers.  Experts are expecting more than 193,000 women to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.  For Denton, his 100% BPA-free bottles have a far-reaching impact.

“By simply purchasing a Get Pink™ bottle, you are not only making a safe and healthy contribution for yourself and the environment, you are helping to eliminate and cure this deadly disease,” Denton says.
