The Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter lets gamers play wirelessly on Xbox LIVE or on the home network. It is for use exclusively with the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system.

The Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter features:

- Dual band 5-GHz and 2.4-GHz signal.

- 802.11a/b/g wireless home network compatibility.

- Radio collaboration with Xbox 360 wireless controllers for worry-free integration.

Note

- To use the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter with Xbox LIVE, you must have a high-speed Internet connection (cable or DSL).

- To further enhance the Xbox 360 wireless experience, consider also using the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote.

If you use a wireless router that uses the 802.11n-only protocol together with the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter, you may experience the following problems:

- The Xbox 360 console may not "see" the wireless network.

- The Xbox 360 may be able to "see" the wireless network but cannot obtain an IP address.

The Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter supports the following wireless protocols:

- 802.11b: This standard has a 2.4-gigahertz (GHz) frequency that provides up to 11-megabits-per-second (Mbps) throughput.
- 802.11g: This standard has a 2.4-GHz frequency that provides up to 54-Mbps throughput.
- 802.11a: This standard has a 5.0-GHz frequency that provides up to 54-Mbps throughput.
