IE Discovery’s BRIDGE Supports Austin Area and National Charities

Employee-run volunteer program encourages service, volunteer work and provides financial support

Sept. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Austin, Texas — IE Discovery, a leading provider of comprehensive Discovery Management solutions to the legal community, has announced the results of its “Bridge” volunteer program for Fiscal 2009. During the year, IE Discovery employees completed more than 700 hours of service, resulting in a company donation of $6,700 in BRIDGE funds. The largest award from the Austin office was presented to the Cedar Park FFA.

IE Discovery’s BRIDGE program encourages its employees to support whatever charitable organization they wish by volunteering, and also provides a company-sponsored pool of money for various community needs. The pool is funded based upon the number of hours of community service performed, with $20 contributed for each hour (up to 12 hours per employee per year). Each employee may allocate half his or her annual BRIDGE funds to any charitable organization and the remainder is pooled and distributed at year-end by the BRIDGE committee. “The BRIDGE program enables our team members to support whatever cause they are passionate about,” said Destiny Pugh, Executive Assistant at IE Discovery and BRIDGE Head Coach. “They can direct all their time and half their funds however they like.”

Team members from IE Discovery’s Austin office donated their time to 25 different organizations and the program supported 12 organizations financially, including The Lance Armstrong Foundation, Make-a-wish, Lifeworks and the Girl Scouts of America. The biggest beneficiary, however, was the Cedar Park FFA, where IE Discovery employees spent 147 hours and the company donated $1,725. “There are not many programs out there like IE Discovery’s BRIDGE program, which encourages a time commitment while also providing financial support,” said Donna O’Loughlin, President of the Cedar Park FFA Alumni.  “IE Discovery’s gracious financial contributions has provided the opportunity for the Cedar Park FFA Alumni to award multiple scholarships to our graduating seniors in order to continue to prepare them for premier leadership, personal growth and career success in the Agriculture Sciences.”

More than half of IE Discovery’s employees participated in the BRIDGE program. “I am very proud of our entire team,” said Chris May, CEO of IE Discovery. “Our people work hard, and it takes a true commitment to give back so much time at the end of a busy day.”
