Follow on Google News | Classics in the Courtyard continues in 2009This event will offer a variety of entertainment through different genres of classic music. Local entertainers and local restaurants will provide the music and lunch on Fridays from 12:00pm-1:00pm beginning October 9th and concluding October 30th.
These diverse musical styles are a special treat for the Vicksburg Community and we hope many will embrace and enjoy the local music and local flavor Vicksburg has to offer. In 2008, this event became a phenomenal success with 850 attendees over the entire series. There is no better beginning to the fall season than “Classics in the Courtyard”. The schedule of entertainment and lunch providers are listed below: Friday, October 9th – Celtic and Folk Music Performed by Reed Bishop, Nicolas and Julia Blake Lunch provided by: Wayne's Bistro Subs and Suds Friday, October 16th - Classic Country and Pop Favorites Performed by: Jim Robinson and Maria Adona Lunch provided by: Martin's at Midtown Friday, October 23rd – Classics Pop and Originals Performed by: Lee H. The Center is a Mississippi Landmark property and is list on the National Register of Historic Places. It is formerly the St. Francis Xavier Convent and Academy and is one of the most architecturally and historically significant city blocks in downtown. The Foundation is committed to preserving the history and architecture of the Cultural Center, while offering cultural, artistic and educational programs for the community. End
