Sept. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- Connecticut Better Business Bureau is now accepting nominations for its 2009 Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence.

The prestigious Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence recognizes a business for its commitment to maintaining an environment which consistently sets exceptionally high standards for behavior in buyer and seller relationships.

The award illuminates the importance of corporate conscience and responsibility in fulfilling the company's obligation to the marketplace by engaging in fair practices, and demonstrating to the business community that adhering to Better Business Bureau ethical standards is the hallmark of successful, competitive companies.

BBB Accredited Businesses and non accredited companies may nominate themselves. Entries must be received no later than Friday, October 3, 2009. All applications are examined for adherence to Better Business Bureau Standards for Trust prior to being reviewed by a panel of independent judges.  A description of the Standards can be found on the Connecticut Better Business Bureau Web site at http://ct.bbb.org/bbb-standards-for-trust/.

Information and entry forms for all of the awards are available at http://www.ct.bbb.org/awards, or by visiting the “Announcements” section in the lower right corner of the Connecticut Better Business Bureau Web site home page, at http://www.ct.bbb.org.

All awards will be presented during a special recognition ceremony on October 29, 2009 at Connecticut BBB’s 81st Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet at the Aqua Turf Club, Southington, CT.
