Most Functional Features of the iPhone 3GS

A quick review of the most functional features on the new iPhone 3GS

Sept. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Most cell phone reviews give the details of every inch of the phone.  We appreciate those, and sometimes want to read them.  This review is meant to quickly provide you with the most functional parts of the iPhone 3GS – in our opinion.  The bread and butter.  So who are we?  Well, Cycled Cells is an easy alternative to time consuming, risky and frustrating experiences associated with the typical online marketplace or classifieds. As a result, we spend hours reviewing and playing with cell phones.  Read on to hear about some of our favorite features you can enjoy with a 3GS.

The new screen on the 3GS is not talked about much, but it is a nice addition.  If you buy a Smartphone, you probably care about your screen.  You probably do not like lots of fingerprints and smudges on there.  You probably don’t like cleaning it off.  Well, this new screen minimizes those activities.  Pretty nice.

As Apple says, the phone is faster.  There really is not much more to say.
Copy and Paste!  This is a big deal for any iPhone user.  Life is much sweeter with this ability.   Does it make the upgrade from a 3G to a 3GS worth it?  Probably not, because you can find this feature in the new OS.  Go download it.

Video editing is much cooler than we thought.  The quality really is good (for a cell phone).  And as if that wasn’t enough, you can cut out what you don’t want right away.  This isn’t for everyone, but for some of you this is a big deal.

The compass is not something that we expected to talk about, but there is something to note.  It syncs with Google Maps.  You can point yourself in the right direction and the compass will change the map to show you which way you are going to walk.  This really is neat, and helpful.

There are other things about the phone that are great, but you can read a 3G review for those.

Bottom Line: the new OS is very impressive (which you can get for your current 3G).  The new phone is not too different from the current model, at least to the average iPhone user.  If you can sign a new contract (or renew) go for it.  If not, you might want to wait.
