“How 2” Change Your Name by Deed Poll

How  first aired in 1966 and following its popularity, subsequently was aired in fifteen countries. However, the world’s longest-running children’s television show sadly came to an end after entertaining children for four decades.

But the broadcasting legend that is Fred Dinenage, the only presenter to have appeared on every series of the show, has teamed up with The Legal Deed Poll Service for one more How –  a video explaining how people can change their name by deed poll.

The TV star, who currently presents ITV Meridian News, was delighted to be involved with the recording of this new video about how to effect a name change.  “I spent almost four decades as the presenter of the How shows and so when the opportunity came up to record a new ‘how?’ feature, I couldn’t pass it up!  I’ve enjoyed working with Jamie and the team at The Legal Deed Poll Service and I hope the video shows how straightforward it is to change name by deed poll using the service.”

How and How 2 were aimed at a young audience and were designed to provide answers to questions beginning with the word ‘How?’. Each episode began with the presenters all raising one hand and saying "How" simultaneously (in the style of the Native American greeting) and common topics covered during the long-running show included science, mathematics and history.

Fred Dinenage has a long career in television as a presenter, newsreader and writer.  He is familiar to millions across the UK for his work in popular shows including Gambit, Tell The Truth, Pass The Buck and, of course, How and How 2.
