| Conservative Blog Steals September Health Care Thunder with Alternative Plan ReleaseBlogger Rich Hilts has been working on this plan for months. He has written several articles with these ideas slowing being added to. Putting a few final touches to it today, he released it widely, putting lie to the claims there are no ...
By: The Logical Choice "Frankly, I got tired of the claim that no one had offered alternatives. I was being interviewed for an article by my (liberal) friend Gene Marrano on our blog (http://www.drscoundrels.com) "Gene was right, we are all pounding on the Health Care takeover by government without providing a common sense alternative" "I just wanted to prove that I had more in me than spite, vitriol and that we can offer something much better than the government poking it's nose and claws into 1/6th of our economy and something that WILL have much wider reaching effects than people suppose. Look at Senate bill S. 1060 where they are talking about community intervention, monitoring intake and calories burned, as well as setting milestones for obese people. Who gave them that right?", Hilts went on to say. What may have started as a dare has turned into a formidable plan that addresses not only costs, but education, student loans, punishment for abuses by bad doctors, tort reform, more doctors and competition, research and development as well as lowering costs and wait times for pharmaceuticals, speeding up competition in drugs available and perhaps saving many many lives in the process. And, in our opinion, he came up with an idea that doesn't have a large bureaucracy, price tag or lag in implementation to it. Government meddling would be at a minimum and people would see almost immediate relief. This plan may just be a fix for what ails us, without trying to treat the illness with poison. "The largest part of my idea was to increase competition in a massive way, while streamlining hurdles out of the way. Legal battles for the wrong reasons, testing processes that take too long, cost too much and don't work well anyway, lack of doctors, nurses and medical professionals driving the supply side of supply and demand the wrong direction - that is what needs to be fixed. Certainly adding 167 layers of government fat isn't going to reduce costs. It will just increase government employment, tax burdens and dependence on a few people in government to save us all.", opines Hilts. And maybe, with that last, he has the right of it., # # # Conservative author/blogger/ End
