Aug. 27, 2009 - PRLog -- ICNet International Ltd, provider of the industry-leading healthcare associated infection (HAI) case management and surveillance program, ICNet TM, is delighted to announce securing a new contract with the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE). The deal provides a first base for ICNet in the Republic of Ireland and is another crucial step in its global expansion plans. This multi site contract will see the installation of ICNet in three hospitals in Ireland commencing immediately and will involve considerable teamwork with all relevant stakeholders. The hospitals involved are Mid-West Regional Hospital Limerick, University College Hospital Galway and Kerry General Hospital Tralee.

ICNet International Ltd continues to expand from its initial base of the UK into new territories and prides itself on the ability to setup new business ventures in untapped markets. Our global network has been buoyed by these additions to our other sites in North America, Australasia, the Middle East and Western Europe. More information on these locations is available at www.icnetplc.com.

ICNet anticipates two new global site announcements in the near future to complement this step in the global growth strategy.

Katie Houghton, Managing Director, ICNet – “These three hospitals are the beginning of what we see as a key change in infection control in Ireland. We are excited to be involved and look forward to developing our already excellent relationship with HSE in these sites and more in the future.”

Iain Collins, Development Manager, ICNet – “Our software has a highly sophisticated set of algorithms used to map patient records in disparate systems, which was essential to the success of this project.”

Dr Nuala O' Connell, Consultant Microbiologist, Mid-West Regional Hospital Limerick – “Recently we have had the launch of the HIQA National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, May 2009 and the HSE- Say No to Infection plan, Mar 2007. Certainly in the Mid-West Regional Hospital Limerick, we have inadequate human resources in infection prevention & control and our local paper records of patients with hospital acquired infections is archiac. ICNet will be a great addition to our Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) service. Our aim, as the IPCT, is to help create a safe environment for patient care and deliver specialist care within that environment without any risk of healthcare associated infections. ICNet is invaluable to use in that aim.”
