Understanding What’s So Special in Special Needs Students

This sensitive book by teacher Godelieve Vandenhoven shows that people who are different need to be treated with dignity, kindness and respect.

Aug. 12, 2009 - PRLog -- Louis is a special kindergarten student who is very different from other children. His classmates and his teacher follow special rules to make him feel comfortable around others.

This enlightening book is intended for teachers who have autistic children in their classroom. However, the term autism is never expressively mentioned in the book, because diagnosis needs to be determined by a therapist.

The point is to have teachers – and parents – understand that for a child with autism, there should be specific rules in place, letting children know that these rules are important so they will follow them.
