Aug. 12, 2009 - PRLog -- Have you ever wondered what it would be like to leave everything you’ve ever known as “normal life” and live in another country that is opposite to who you are and what you are accustomed to?

Margaret Rowswell did just that and her decision turned out to be one of the best ones she’d ever made.  Rowswell worked as a medical secretary in England and, after much consideration and despite the protests of her children, she moved to Luxor, Egypt for seven months.  Her life went from a hectic 9-5 existence to a slowed-down solitude or, as Rowswell described as, “hitting a brick wall.”

What began as a personal diary transformed into a narration that Rowswell wanted to share—her account of her experiences highlights the lessons she learned about a different culture and, more importantly, about herself.  What she learned was that the precious moments in a day can be quiet and slowed down; that reusing possessions can be a virtue; and that opening one’s heart and mind to a different people and culture can bring about an appreciation of how all humans share a connection.

Rowswell’s story of exploring two sides of herself and relishing the delights and disappointments of her journey will encourage you to take a risk and explore a new horizon.  This beautifully written narrative is a reminder of how different people, places, and things can awaken a part of yourself you never knew existed.
