Colfax International Offers Two New Low-Cost HPC Cluster Computing Bundles

Aug. 12, 2009 - PRLog -- Colfax International, a leading provider of fully-customizable, high-performance computing solutions,  today announced the availability of two new low-cost HPC cluster computing bundles, which include InfiniBand switches and adapters provided by Mellanox Technologies (NASDAQ- MLNX; TASE: MLNX), and Platform Computing’s Platform Cluster Manager.

The new bundles improve application performance and productivity in enterprise and high-performance data centers by adding 20Gb/s and 40Gb/s InfiniBand connectivity and simplify cluster operation through a fully integrated software stack.  The bundles will enable more companies to take advantage of the performance, low-latency and efficiency benefits of InfiniBand and the ease-of-use provided by Platform Cluster Manager.  

Platform Cluster Manager is a complete cluster lifecycle management solution that allows a user to build a cluster in hours versus weeks.  The technology enables users to quickly provision/install the cluster, monitor cluster resources, update software and drivers, analyze the cluster, optimize the performance, and expand the cluster.

1) 20Gb/s InfiniBand bundle: 1 Flextronics 24-port 20Gb/s InfiniBand switch, 12 single-port InfiniHost® III Lx 20Gb/s InfiniBand adapters, and 12 Mellanox 2 meters long, copper cables with CX4 connectors.

2) 40Gb/s InfiniBand bundle: 1 Mellanox MTS3600 36-port switch, 8 single-port ConnectX® 40Gb/s InfiniBand adapters, and 8 Mellanox 2 meters long, copper cables with QSFP connectors.
Price:  $9,995 (Optional 8 node bundle of Platform Cluster Manager 1 Year ClusterCare: $999)
