American Medical Student Association Welcomes Two Senior Executives

Aug. 3, 2009 - PRLog -- The American Medical Student Association (AMSA), the nation’s largest, independent medical student organization, and the AMSA Foundation today welcome two senior level employees. Meeghan De Cagna has joined as Communications and Marketing Senior Director. Cassandra Isidro, MBA, has joined as Development and Business Relations Director. Both are new positions within a reorganized staff organizational structure under the direction of Dr. Carol Williams-Nickelson, AMSA’s Executive Director.

De Cagna brings 18 years of strategic communications and marketing experience to her new role. She most recently served for ten years as the Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer for Envision EMI, an education, management and marketing consultancy that provides membership, non-profit and for-profit education-centered organizations with a full suite of education, conference and event management services. In this role, she spearheaded leadership and career programs held throughout the United States, China, India, South Africa and Europe for 50,000 high-achieving students annually. Prior to this role, De Cagna served as Envision EMI’s Senior Director, Global Market space, where she was responsible for growing the company by overseeing their international data and marketing strategy.

Isidro brings 15 years of executive fundraising and leadership experience to her new position. She was most recently employed as the Executive Director for the USO of Hawaii, and prior to that served as the Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer, respectively, for the Hawaii State chapter of the American Red Cross. Her professional portfolio includes significant achievements in donor cultivation and stewardship, writing winning health-related grants and implementing them, comprehensive prospecting, board and leadership development, finance administration, business development and volunteer management.

“Cassandra has already made great strides in understanding and defining many of AMSA’s funding priorities and taking meaningful, tangible steps to coordinate and integrate efforts to bring new revenue streams into the organization,” continues Williams-Nickelson.
