The STS valet parking system, CVPS, at the W Hotel South Beach is equipped with dispatch and point-of-sale terminals with credit card processing capabilities. The CVPS system interfaces with the hotel management system, Galaxy. Through the interface, transient and overnight valet parking charges can be conveniently added to the hotel guest bill. License plate recognition technology is used at the entrance gate for automatic vehicle identification purposes. The system allows for previously stored vehicle information, i.e. plate, make, model, color, to automatically link up to repeat valet customers, which greatly reduces the time and labor requirements for data entry. Some clients have used this data to calculate average length of stay and percentage of frequent visitors. High definition cameras are used at this location in both the entrance and exit lanes to protect from false damage claims.
