Photo Stitching-- A short note

July 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Image stitching or panorama stitching is the process of combining multiple photographic images with overlapping fields of view to produce an integrated panorama or high-resolution image.

Photo stitching is a technique of image editing that captures images with elongated fields of view also known as wide format. The term applies to a photograph that is cropped to a relatively wide aspect ratio.  While there is no formal definition for the point at which wide angle leaves off and panoramic begins, a basic rule would be that wide angle refers to the type of lens used but does not necessarily constitute itself as a panorama.

Panorama tools are used to stitch a panoramic image. They provide a powerful framework for re-projecting and blending multiple source images into immersive panoramic of many types.  An updated version of the Panorama Tools library serves as the underlying core engine for many software panorama GUI front-ends.

•   Image calibration
