A New Search Engine for Dutch Websites

Setooz.com, a local language search engine has started a Dutch service. This service aimed towards Dutch language native speakers, enables them search the Dutch language websites.

July 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Setooz.com which has recently launched a beta version of it's local language web search engine, has announced their new Dutch addition today. The search engine now supports 23 languages with this addition and says it plans to add more soon. Setooz aims to become the world's local language search engine and has begun with a few pilot languages.

The search engine is capable of automatically learning about the local language and providing better quality search results. The company said, the ability to handle morphological variations of query words is their first step towards improving the search quality and they soon plan to add more features.

For example, in the case of Dutch, a search query such as "jazzmuziek" would lose out on many documents if a search engine just looks for that string. Setooz on the other is able to understand that "jazzmuziek" is "jazz" and "muziek". Such language intelligence helps the search engine retrieve better results.

The beta version of Setooz Zoekmachine (Dutch for Search Engine) can be accessed at http://nl.setooz.com .
