July 13, 2009 - PRLog -- After the remarkable association of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) with YUKTI Education Services for setting up its Junior College in Vile Parle, there is more on BMC students’ platter. The junior college students from BMC schools can now get free IIT education if they get selected in any IIT institute. Yukti has announced that it will fully sponsor the IIT degree of all those BMC students who beat the IIT entrance examination.

Yukti’s sponsorship of BMC students’ IIT education comes as a big relief for students from poor families. Lots of BMC students come from families who may not be able to pay for their IIT education even when selected. Yukti’s announcement of complete sponsorship of IIT education of BMC students will take the burden off the family’s shoulders.

Said Mohit Goel, Chairman, Yukti Educational Services, “It is a three step idea to ensure that talented students from BMC schools get their due, and that apart from merit, no other factor gets in their way. We first set up science junior college for them, then give them free IIT entrance coaching and then will sponsor their IIT education.”

“To sponsor IIT education, Yukti is setting up an educational trust that will undertake all the sponsorship activities of students. The trust will comprise of funds donated from patrons in the private and public sector,” added Mohit.

It may be noted that Yukti was recently given the mandate by the BMC to set up a science junior college at Vile Parle, replete with a fairly modern infrastructure with fully air-conditioned classrooms, exhaustive library, and science laboratories. The junior college will be managed by Yukti that will run academic course for XI and XII classes, with subjects in English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science (vocational). Out of the total of 100 seats in the first year, 50 seats are reserved for students from municipal schools. Municipal school students will be selected on the merit of their Xth percentage and on the results of an aptitude test conducted by Yukti.

Education for the BMC students will be free of cost at the Vile Parle Junior College. Yukti will also impart coaching for engineering entrance examinations like IIT JEE, AIEEE and MHT-CET to its students. For this, it will utilise its exclusive faculty of IIT alumni. The BMC students will be able to avail this facility free of cost. Yukti will also focus on communication skills and will hire English tutors especially for this.
