How Your Contracting Company Can Be the First People Call

There will always be things within a house that people want to change, fix, remove, or remodel, so keep a tab on them so that potential projects don’t slip through your hands.

July 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Here’s an idea, to gain more and more contracting leads; leads that you may have not even dreamed of; How about doing the grocery shopping? Or taking out the garbage cans to the curb? Maybe even mowing their lawns? Some contracting companies have gone to the extreme of offering concierge services to certain clients as a ‘reward’ for them using the services of the contracting company. Talk about a way to showing your gratitude! But, it’s not a bad idea, if used properly. In fact, it’s rather tricky to pull off, and if you’re not careful, you may have nasty conflicts on your hands, especially if a lack of funds causes you to renege on any free services your contracting company may offer as a bonus. “Offering free services are a great way to say thank you to loyal clients and to show that their business is much appreciated,” says Kip Charles of http://www.contractorleadssuck.com, “and can be a huge ploy in keeping loyal clients, and gaining new ones.” Helping your clients is the key to any potential concierge service, and that should be the focus in anything that is offered.

Being the only contracting company in your client’s phonebook is a lofty dream, but unless your contracting company is located primarily in a close-knit, small neighborhood, your contracting company’s number will not be the only one that your clients call in the span of the business relationship. However, there are ways to ensure that your contracting company is the only one that your clients recommend to family and friends.

The thing with contracting businesses, is that there is an opening to maintaining a business relationship with clients, whereas with construction jobs, there is little to no connection because a construction job is a one-time job, where a contracting or remodeling company can have multiple jobs over years that one particular client can have them do to their house or office building. There is a personal side to it too. When your contracting company is hired to do a job, they are being brought into the home of someone that obviously cares deeply about its appearance. So there is already an emotional connection between contractor and client. Trust is the key, so be sure to do NOTHING that will cause that trust to be broken.

Sometimes a client will not know that your contracting company is skilled to do anything other than the job you have already done for them. For example, your contracting company may have remodeled a bathroom for a client, but now they need a kitchen makeover. Keeping in contact with past clients will get your contracting company new business and projects to do, and you may not even have to get a new client for it. Now don’t get me wrong, you WANT to get more and more clients, but don’t forget about the ones you have had in the past. There will always be things within a house that people want to change, fix, remove, or remodel, so keep a tab on them so that potential projects don’t slip through your hands.

The market is saturated with firms who depend on technology and have lost their focus on marketing creativity. With many of them focused only on making money for themselves, they have failed to make money for their clients. http://www.ursalesguru.com
