Sharkey 28, set up aMillionJobsToDo after becoming fixated on a house with a price tag of a million pounds and dreaming of how she could raise the money to buy it. Sharkey states “Although I find my current career rewarding, I know that I am never going to make my fortune doing it and if I want to make my dream a reality, I need to create the opportunity for myself.  I often found myself doing little jobs and favours for friends and family so I decided to turn this into a business opportunity. I thought that if I can combine all my skill sets, from my home life, work life and extra tasks, I could complete enough small, paid jobs to achieve my goal.

Any task will be considered for a minimum sum of £1, Sharkey will complete each job with the same commitment and enthusiasm, regardless of how much she stands to make. In theory she could actually have to complete a million tasks worth £1 each but hopes it will be fewer jobs worth more profit!
