June 8, 2009 - PRLog -- The app delivers 24 HD videos, 420 multiple choice test questions on rules of the road, 100 questions on traffic signs, common driving mistakes, test taking tips, and downloads for various state driving manuals. http://www.teenlivedrive.com
Detailed results for test questions are delivered which may also be emailed.

“I can’t think of a better medium to deliver a content rich drivers ed program to teenagers”, says Paul Greenway, content producer, along with partner Eknath Kadam. “This is an application that can save lives.”

Teenagers can take the iPhone, iPod touch out for a drive so to speak, watching real life driving situations on real roads while listening to a professional driving instructor talk about the traffic and approaching situations.

A major benefit of the App is the ability of teenagers to quiz themselves on rules of the road and traffic signs. The huge question bank helps new drivers prepare for the written permit test. Test taking tips gets teenagers ready for the behind- the-wheel test.
Driving manuals from every state can also be downloaded and read in landscape mode.

“Most schools don’t teach behind the wheel anymore, says Jim Grimm, driving instructor and coach at Reagan High School in Austin, Texas. “I think it is great to have this safety information so available, since many kids wind up tuning out a parent.”

“It would take me weeks and who knows how many gallons of gas to drive my teenagers through all the scenarios in this new App, says Bernice Smith, a mother of three teenagers in St Louis, Missouri.  “And it’s especially nice that I can put something educational on the iPod touch, a player teenagers live on.”

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that car crashes are the leading cause of death among teens, nearly 6000 every year and some 300,000 injured.
NHTSA promotes a graduated driver licensing system, where young drivers satisfy staggered requirements before full driving privileges, a system that has shown a reduction in crashes.

“All subjects in school are important but in a way I think drivers education is most important “, says Grimm. “I mean not being able to add can’t kill you, not knowing what to do behind the wheel can be lethal.”

The app can be downloaded from following link. You should have iTunes installed on your computer to install the app on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
