The Glossy Heritage Awards 2009

    The announcement of results and presentation of “The Glossy Heritage Awards 2009” in the 33rd Vintage Car Concours took place on Thursday 21, May 2009 at Royal Paragon Hall, the 5th level of Siam Paragon Center, presided over by Mr. Kwanchai Paphatphong, President of Vintage Car Club of Thailand.  

    Mr. Wichan Rastapana, Executive Director (Activities) of the Club, said “Vintage Car Club and members of the Award Judging Panel feel so proud and happy to see that car owners appreciate the importance of restoring old cars to mint condition—surely an act of dedication and commitment to pass on these priceless heritages to the younger generations to cherish. It also opens up an opportunity for those interested to partake in the exchange of views about vintage cars, thereby expanding the vintage car fraternity”.  

   Every car that wins an award this year has met all the attribute requirements specified in the contest criteria whether in regard to body colours, types of tyre, upholstery or, especially, engines. The winner of Vintage Car (pre-1940) Award this year is the Austin Seven (Open Road Tourer) owned by Khun Jariya Rastapana. The winner of Post-war Car (1940-1955) Award is the Mercedes-Benz 3008 owned by Khun Prasong Panitchpakdee. The winner of Classic 4-door Saloon is the Mercedes-Benz 280SE owned by Khun Vivat Srifuengfung. And the winner of Classic 2-door Sports Car is the Porsche 912 of Khun Damrong Bamrungpol.
