Follow on Google News | New Interactive Christian Worship Experience Breaks Free from Traditional Church ApproachCelebrate Worship, a new form of interactive Christian worship, breaks free from the traditional church approach and invites participants to play an active role in creating the worship experience.
Matthew Moran and his wife Blanca, founders and facilitators of Celebrate Worship, have both spent years working full-time in ministry, leading worship, and just as much time as attending members in the pews. During that time, they enjoyed some great experiences and many that left them craving more. Their goal in creating Celebrate Worship is to create a ministry that would not only pull together the best of these experiences, but also open the door for new ones. “The format is one where every participant has a voice, “ explains Matthew Moran. “Everyone is integral in creating the worship experience. Everyone is both minister and being ministered to. Everyone is both creating the worship and experiencing it. We simply open the door rather than close it. We're not afraid. How do you want to express yourself? Go for it! Be yourself.” Celebrate Worship takes an all-inclusive, familial approach wanting everyone of every age and background to feel welcome. Unlike most churches that divide families by age group, all ages are welcomed and encouraged to participate together at Celebrate Worship in true family style. Child care is also provided, as needed. Moran comments that many churches have a “sit and soak it in” approach, whereas Celebrate Worship encourages active involvement. They want participants to come with something to share: a thought, an insight, a prayer, a song, etc. Participants may also bring acoustic instruments to contribute to the worship experience. They equally emphasize that it is about freedom and that participant's should never feel any pressure to participate. “Everyone has their good days and bad,” says Moran. “Some days we feel like celebrating and some days we don't. We want our time together to be real, not forced or faked. Come as you are. We just want to be together as God's family. If participants simply want to come and quietly pray in the corner or meditate on their own, that's fine. If they want to get some one on one time sharing with another participant and aren't feeling up for a group experience, no problem. If they simply want to come and observe, that's fine too. Just come!” Celebrate Worship strives to be in tune with each participant's comfort level. To be more actively involved, participants can sign-up through the Celebrate Worship website: http://www.CelebrateWorship.com.
