Follow on Google News | Stop Smoking In Just One Hour And Save A PacketA new specialist stop smoking clinic offers smokers in Liverpool probably the best chance to quit smoking. Harley Street based Instinctive Hypnotherapy, launches the bi-weekly clinic in Liverpool’s Rodney Street from 18th May 2009.
By: Katie Glen Liverpool is still one of the UK’s biggest smoking cities, with 30 per cent¹ of all adults smoking compared with national average of 22 per cent² men and 20 per cent² women. Smoking not only very unhealthy, it’s expensive. For example a 20 a day smoker spends over £2,000 each year on cigarettes. There are several smoking cessation services already available in Liverpool. However, Glen, who lived in the city for 5 years, believes there's still much more that needs to be done to help people in Liverpool quit properly and permanently. She claims that her therapy has an excellent success rate and is streets ahead of any other method on the market. Success rates for staying off the cigarettes at least 12 months later range from 13 per cent using nicotine patches³, 20 per cent with nicotine patches combined with counselling³ In 1968 Von Dedenroth⁵ reported in the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis a stop smoking success rate, using advanced hypnotherapy techniques, of 94 per cent over an 18-month period with no less than a 1,000 smokers. Glen uses the Austin Technique, an advanced structured form of hypnotherapy, which has many similarities to Dedenroth’s work. Glen says ‘Not surprisingly it has been able to reach a comparably high success-rate using advanced techniques and in a very concentrated hour of therapy. It’s a tried and tested method that has helped thousands quit smoking permanently worldwide. And it’s not a hit and miss success – it doesn't matter how many cigarettes a client smokes, for how long or how often.’ The perfectly safe mind re-programming technique works because it changes attitudes towards smoking and replaces the satisfaction smokers get from cigarettes to something better for them. The treatment is not a temporary fix – with client commitment, it's permanent. Back-up therapy is included in the price, but it’s rarely needed.
