By: Heidi Lovy More than 100 Michigan restaurants will participate in the 14th annual Dine Out benefit Friday, June 12. Restaurants in the state will donate 10% of that day’s breakfast, lunch and dinner sales to the Michigan AIDS Coalition (MAC), Michigan’s largest non-profit AIDS education and prevention organization. MAC is the result of a recent merger between the Midwest AIDS Prevention Project and the Michigan AIDS Fund. It was this merger, which raises the quality and quantity of services offered, that inspired Dine Out’s state-wide reach this year. By simply eating out June 12, diners help in the fight against AIDS. Dine Out has raised more than $300,000 and has gained the support of more than 300 restaurants in the last 13 years. Dine Out Michigan is presented by the MetroTimes, and is sponsored by FOX2 News and Between the Lines. For more information about Dine Out Michigan, or for a complete list of participating restaurants, visit www.dineoutmichigan.org or call MAC at 248-545-1435. # # # The mission of the Michigan AIDS Coalition is to prevent HIV/AIDS in Michigan by promoting healthy lifestyles, providing and investing in evidence-based, innovative programs and through advocacy and education.
