Bouwman was then invited to present a technical session with Allan LaFramboise of ESRI focusing on developing GeoWeb applications.

Bouwman used real-world examples in his wide-ranging “notes from the field” technical session on developing focused GeoWeb applications. His presentation included development concepts relating to map canvases, usability, interface design, back-end service design, and unit testing utilizing the ASP.NET model view controller (MVC), MbUnit, esri.map, and OpenLayers.

Noyle demonstrated the implementation of RESTful applications and services utilizing ESRIs REST and JavaScript APIs with Microsoft’s ASP.NET MVC framework.

Noyle covered important features of REST and MVC architectures and focused on real world examples from recent development initiatives to illustrate the potential impact of RESTful services and applications in the geospatial enterprise.
