“In the military, the forward observer is someone who instructs a field unit where to direct fire, or passes back battlefield information to the unit. The name of our organization is based on our belief that in many ways, veterans serve as the eyes and ears of our nation, and can address the future needs of fellow vets,” explains Forward Observer president and founder, Connie Ligman. “We realize that no one understands a veteran like another veteran. Each one can offer advice to fellow veterans, no matter when they served.” The new and evolving website offers clips of veteran interviews and mental health professionals, along with links to veterans’ service organizations and the social networking site, iVeteran.us. Clips will be changed or added to reflect Forward Observer's growing library of work. Forward Observer is based out of Milwaukee and Indianapolis. The organization intends to film in other areas and address a wider array of veteran-related topics as more funding becomes available. For more information, contact Connie Ligman, Forward Observer, President and Founder at cligman@forwardobserver.org or Jeremy Fliss, Media Director at jfliss@forwardobserver.org. # # # Forward Observer is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation that empowers veterans through media. Working with veterans, their families and veteran service organizations, Forward Observer fosters a mentoring environment for veterans of all wars and conflicts, advocates on behalf of veterans and veteran issues and helps ease the transition back into civilian life. By encouraging and empowering one another, Forward Observer believes veterans can serve as the eyes and ears – or spotters – to the needs of our country, and their fellow veterans. End
