May 12, 2009 - PRLog -- The Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences Department, in partnership with the Center for Continued Learning at Wilkes University, is proud to offer a variety of credit and non-credit courses and workshops in the summer of 2009.

Applications in Soil Science Related to Land-Based Wastewater Disposal
and Stormwater Management

This workshop will include a summary of the regulations related to land-based wastewater disposal and stormwater best management practices for Pennsylvania and more detailed information related to the interpretation of soil morphological information. A review of basic and advance soil morphology, percolation / infiltration testing, and then hands on field experience in evaluating soils and conducting infiltration and percolation testing. The field testing will then be reviewed to evaluate the most suitable land-based disposal or stormwater management solutions based on site conditions.

Course Available for:
Act 48 credits will be provided to teachers who attend the workshop,
Continuing Education Units, or
Undergradate / Graduate Credit - exam required for University Credit
