She continued writing until 2005 and that’s when she starting compiling her writings into the emotional and moving book Girl Becomes Woman.

This is the personal journey of a girl growing up through her poems, expressing her adventures from childhood to adulthood. Michelle Berardo Klear grew up in Flint, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan-Flint to study communications and public relations and graduated in 1988. That same year, she had three poems published in the American Poetry Anthology. She married her husband, Brian, in 1989 and lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana for six years before moving back to Michigan. Michelle and Brian are the proud parents of Savanna Rose and Jackson Eugene.
