LarsonO’Brien Continuing Education Director Earns LEED(R) AP Certification

Lisa Pierce, Director of Continuing Education Services for LarsonO’Brien Marketing Group, has earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) AP certification.
 
March 31, 2009 - PRLog -- PITTSBURGH…Lisa Pierce, Director of Continuing Education Services for LarsonO’Brien Marketing Group, has earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) AP certification.

The LEED Professional Accreditation program, managed by the Green Building Certification Institute, distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. Because LarsonO’Brien works primarily with clients in the architectural building products sector, this is a strong step in the right direction for both Pierce and LarsonO’Brien to better communicate green messaging.

As the head of LarsonO’Brien’s Continuing Education Services practice, Pierce develops content from scratch to produce online courses for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Program. Architects as well as non-AIA members register and complete these educational courses for credit as part of their annual requirements. In 2008, Pierce produced nearly 40 of these courses. This year, despite the fact that it’s only March, she has already topped last year’s total.

After preparing for months, attending LEED workshops across the country and studying the LEED Reference Guide, Pierce is both excited and relieved to have completed the LEED AP certification process, effective March 18, 2009.

“As a LEED AP, I will be more involved in green building standards, practices, technologies and initiatives,” explains Pierce. “It will allow me to bridge the gap between architects and manufacturers, communicating the information that is most important to each respective discipline.”
