March 25, 2009 - PRLog -- devolo, the global leader in the powerline market, has announced the availability of comprehensive software support for Microsoft Windows 7 with the launch of its v20 software package.

devolo is the first powerline manufacturer to offer Microsoft Windows 7 support. Its new v20 software package comes with corresponding system support and contains the necessary functional improvements for the new Microsoft operating system.

devolo customers who switch to the new Microsoft OS at the time of the launch can be sure that their dLAN network is ready to use immediately and is fully functional in Windows 7. Recent Windows 7 beta tests using the devolo v20 software package have demonstrated that customers have all necessary tools at their disposal.

The devolo v20 software package for dLAN products with network connection is now available as a free download under www.devolo.de

"devolo customers are used to comprehensive operating system support," says Heiko Harbers, CEO of devolo AG. "For example, we support all current Windows versions as well as Mac OS X and current Linux versions. Therefore, it is only natural for us to offer the software for Windows 7 as quickly as possible."

Currently with a public beta version in circulation, Microsoft Windows 7 is scheduled for a market launch in late 2009 and is intended as the final replacement for Windows XP, which has been on the market since 2001. It is planned for much more rapid distribution than Windows Vista and contributing factors will include more intuitive navigation and the graphically appealing design with few system requirements.
