March 22, 2009 - PRLog -- All-American Recovery Group (AAR) provides a comprehensive set of services for disaster preparedness, response and recovery.   In its never-ending effort to improve the quality and depth of services that it provides, AAR has sought out new solutions that address customer needs.  Experience, and many lessons documented in the after-action reports from 9/11, Katrina, floods and wildfires have demonstrated that situational awareness, decision support and response coordination lack the requisite data to make informed decisions and track the progress of the work efforts.

AAR has teamed with a collaborative of information technology and communications companies that will provide Emergency Management and Incident Command with the data, information and knowledge to better assess situations and proactively plan optimal response. Real-time, two-way communication includes not just traditional call-down, alert and notification functions – but audio, photo, video and GPS status updates. The SIMI Group, Sacramento CA, is coordinating the AAR technology team provides these new services to our customers.

Preparedness
•   AAR recording of resources, locations, critical infrastructure and key resources maintained online and available over the web as data, tables, reports and on maps – ready to activate
•   AAR detailed survey and assessment of “at risk” locations to prepare for evacuation and shelter including emergency contact information, special needs (such as ventilators, pharmaceuticals), medical caches, backup power, potable water and kitchen facilities
•   Coordination of AAR resource, location and survey tools with volunteer organizations including the American Red Cross
•   Creation of online “Picture Books” for key locations available online or can be transmitted including key access points, ADA access, power/gas shutoff and other key information
•   Reports to ensure that key Homeland Security, Urban Area Security Initiative, Hospital Preparedness and Bioterrorism grant program requirements are met
•   Identification and continual exercising of communications with private and third-party partners
Response
•   Real time two-way communications with confirmation, status, data and information including GPS coordinates, progress, photos, videos and audio via telephony, SMS, satellite, cellular, radio and other methods
•   Real-time updated resource allocation with back-fill of response people along with the resources they need to do the job
•   Real-time coordination with instant messaging, group messaging, video/web conferencing and “texting’ to provide resilient and redundant data, information and communication paths
•   Support for sharing of information to Incident Command and Emergency Management Command systems using industry standards for messaging
Recovery
•   Progress tracking and status updates of recovery progress, areas covered and staging for future locations
Training and Exercises
•   AAR provides full training and exercise programs, materials and online resources to ensure appropriate level of preparedness is maintained
•   Assistance with HSEEP and other exercise programs

Additionally, AAR is pre-qualifying other preparedness, response and recovery firms to act as “virtual network of resources” to customers. AAR acts as a single point of contact for staging, coordination, activation and status using advanced information technology and communications that are pre-configured to provide near real-time status updates.   AAR also works with partners to ensure a full understanding of NIMS with periodic drills and exercises.
