Enhance Digital Publishing with the new eMagAPI

March 15, 2009 - PRLog -- eMagCreator is a desktop software for creating online publications with rich media content at low cost. The new Version 2.4.5 includes updated help files, improved PDF rendering, a Spanish version of the application and the new eMagAPI.

We have re-engineered the eMags to now allow for custom development via the launch of the eMagAPI. The eMagAPI is a JavaScript interface which gives developers with JavaScript knowledge the possibility to program and add different features to eMags and to even update the content. For the developers this will enable a totally new realm of possibilities. The API is considered a complete new layer to the software and to the license terms.

By default the eMagAPI comes with a number of plug-and-play scripts. These include a basic Google Analytics integration kit, a small example of an on-page game, a banner rotation system for banner adds to be dynamically displayed, and other enhancing plug-ins.

Other features available for custom implementation include:
- Commenting system with the ability to write comments in the eMag that relates to a given page
- Shopping carts which can be custom made to integrate with and existing e-commerce system
- Password/DRM solutions to protect publications from unauthorised access
- Dynamic content offering the ability to create dynamic publications with content changing on demand
- Event control which makes it possible to control when and how features and functionalities should work: open videos automatically, push commercials or banners, automatic pop-up, activate by mouse over, etc.

Additionally, the eMagAPI, will allow for Integration with 3rd party API¹s and libraries: Google® (Google Maps, Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Google Code), Flicker® (take images from Flicker), Amazon® (create ecommerce solutions based on Amazon), Yahoo® (user interface library), integration with YouTube®, Blogs and toolbars. The eMagAPI will also allow Mashups, the ability to combine API¹s from different service providers (for example integrate and combine features from Google Maps API and Amazon API).
