Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment auditions and casting information

March 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Columbia Pictures is all set and ready to develop a big-screen franchise based on James Patterson’s best-selling novel series “Maximum Ride,”  and Marvel chief Avi Arad is on to produce alongside Ghost Rider and Doomsday producer Steven Paul. The story focuses on six kids who underwent genetic modification to be 98 percent human and 2 percent bird. After escaping from the laboratories they’re held at, the children are pursued by a gang of werewolves sent to track them down.

There are currently four titles in James Patterson's novels, the Maximum Ride series, with a fifth scheduled for release on Monday, March 16, 2009. Don Payne, screenwriter of “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” is writing the script.

Each of the novels in the series has reached #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list.

The plot follows the adventures of Maximum Ride (more commonly known as Max), a headstrong fourteen year-old, and her group of human-avian hybrids, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy (Gasman), and Angel (otherwise known as the Flock), who have been the subjects of experiments leaving them 98% human and 2% avian. The experiments were conducted at a facility known as "The School", located in Death Valley, California. The flock is constantly being hunted down by Erasers, human-lupine (wolf) hybrids and "Flyboys"(Robot Erasers), that were also created at the School. The Flock works towards protecting the world from domination by mysterious figures, who have also shown an interest in their capture.
