Feb. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Trevor Hoskisson, 51, a former police officer, who suffered head and neck injuries in the line of duty which led to his medical retirement, and now pioneers a new initiative to promote healthy living and provide the means whereby this can be simply achieved by virtually anybody, has been short listed in a competition to find Britain's top coach.

He is one of 55 of the leading coaches in the country selected to take part in this competition and needs your support to be selected for the next stage.

Following his medical discharge Trevor’s ill health continued with constant back pain, neck pain and almost daily migraines. He received some of the best medical treatment available and tried numerous alternative therapies but nothing really helped. He was unable to drive, or travel, or to sit for longer than a few minutes. This situation continued for 6 years until he learned the principles of coaching and he started to apply coaching techniques in his own life. These techniques included setting goals, and taking small steps each day to achieve those goals. He also learnt how to control his thoughts so he no longer dwelt on the pain and the negative consequences of what had happened.

Trevor found these principles so helpful that he decided he wanted to help others to change their lives around also.

In 2004 he founded Life Coaching Online, but more recently decided to specialise in Health Coaching and launched a new website www.healthcoachinguk.com in 2007.

Trevor gives his clients access to one of the world's leading and most sophisticated Health Coaching websites which cost $2 million to develop. Trevor believes that Health Coaching is the only answer to the growing health crisis. A recent Yale study showed that “Coaching is a highly effective and superior strategy in reducing total cholesterol and other coronary risk factors such as blood pressure, compared to patients who were prescribed medication but not coached.”

Trevor is delighted to have been short listed for the competition. "I was really stepping out of my comfort zone in entering this." said Trevor "But this is what I am constantly telling my clients to do. I am also passionate about helping people transform their lives and accept responsibility for their own health"

He needs public votes to make it through to the finals so he would like his supporters to log on to the website www.britainsnexttopcoach.tv  view the video of his coaching tip and support him by voting for him.

Trevor lives in both Somerset and London. He practices as a hypnotherapist at the Harley Street Hypnotherapy Clinic, and is a pioneer in the field of hypno-coaching. He enjoys travelling as well as gardening and is passionate about keeping fit.

The competition is called Britain’s Next Top Coach and public voting starts on 2nd March 2009
