Feb. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- Artists David Adickes and John Palmer will host a revolutionary private art opening at Palmer’s Heights Studio and Gallery located at 1218 Heights Boulevard on Saturday, February 21, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m..   Perfect in time after the recent bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth, the event will feature six unique collaborative pieces, all being Adickes’ white plaster presidential busts infused with Palmer’s dynamic abstract painting.  The gallery courtyard now embraces a 12 foot tall Adickes’ Lincoln bust, outlined by Palmer’s projection of text from the Gettysburg address.

Adickes, b. 1927, and Palmer, b. 1974, although a half century apart in age, are both native Texans who have forged ahead in the world of art.  Adickes, most renowned for his massive sculpture of General Sam Houston in Huntsville Texas, graciously agreed to let Palmer add his unique touch to his stately busts.
