Feb. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Silver Spring, MD. – Southern University student and Baton Rouge native Michelle Ramsey is excited about her upcoming graduation.  But her accolades may come much sooner than her 2009 commencement because she is now a published author.  Ms. Ramsey is a children’s book writer and her first book, Dance Shoes for Jalana, will be released on February 20th, according to publisher, Sweetie’s Books.

Set in Japan, Dance Shoes for Jalana, tells the story of young Jalana’s desire to dance at her school’s recital.  Unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t seem to master the steps.  A magic stone that she found and a pair of magic dance shoes seemed to hold the answer.  She danced beautifully and received much applause.  Later, she discovered that there is no such thing as magic stones or magic shoes.  The reason so danced so well is because she practiced so hard and believed that she could do it.
