Feb. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- At a time when most headlines read doom and gloom, some sectors are growing.  One of the hottest demographics for marketers these days are businesses catering to baby-boomers, and seniors.  The McKinsey Global Institute states that “In less than 10 years, age 50+ consumers will control the economy for the first time in history.  By 2015, the U.S. baby boomer generation will command almost 60% of net U.S. wealth and 40% of spending.”  Businesses expected to benefit from aging boomers include leisure, healthcare and financial industries to name a few.

More boomers are getting online too… more than ever before.  One small (but growing) business that caters to boomers, seniors, and family members online is The Senior List® (www.theseniorlist.com).  The Senior List connects consumers to quality businesses by encouraging consumers to review and rate senior focused businesses online.  In what Senior List CEO Chris Clark says is a “give and take,” consumers can help each other make educated choices about senior services in local communities.  “We created a tool that will allow opinionated consumers to help a neighbor out” says Clark.

The Senior List has over 8,000 businesses in its growing database.  In fact, this small business expects to hire this year.  They are looking to hire a sales force in early 2009, and expect to further grow their sales and marketing staff in 2010.   Even in these economic times, some businesses expect to do well.  The Senior List will hire 15-20 full or part-time sales representatives by end of April.  Who said economic downturn?  For those that cater to the right people at the right time, it may just be sunny skies ahead…

The Senior List is an online solution that allows consumers to review and rate senior-focused businesses online.  Since the results of the surveys are posted to The Senior List, consumers can browse the vast database created by their peers to find trustworthy service providers in their own community.
