Feb. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Tulsa, OK – During a recent interview, Bill Bartmann, self-made billionaire, shared some of his life’s experiences and explained how he was able to cope with difficulties and succeed.  He explained how important self esteem is and how it has a direct bearing on one’s happiness and well being as they work toward their goals.  

Later in this interview, Bill Bartmann talked about building self-confidence.  Bill said, “Self esteem and self confidence go together; they are both vital to one’s happiness and success.  Lack of self confidence hinders your ability to face life’s challenges and cope with life’s difficulties.  Self confidence comes from within yourself, from others and from your accomplishments.  If you are lacking in self confidence it could be that you are overly critical of yourself.”

Bill Bartmann has had his moments of feeling down and out; everyone does at some point in their life.  “It is part of what makes us human,” said Bartmann.  “The important thing is to recognize what is happening and respond to it in a positive way.  When you find yourself being negative, ask yourself if it really is true.  Are you really stupid?  Is it true that you are hopeless and that you cannot succeed?”

Bill Bartmann shared some tips on building self-confidence, including surround your self by others who are self-confident; model their attitude by appearing to be self-confident; focus on strengths rather than on weaknesses; reward yourself for accomplishments and learn from your failures.
