| Shiloh: "Book on Broken American Dream Will Have to Wait"The Cold War might be over, but global hot spots in the news have made American D.L. Shiloh shuffle which project takes off his desk. Here's a look inside "The Eyewitness."
"The Eyewitness" is an ambitious multi-leveled project, starting with a 100-page book of poetry. "This is was a project I started in '94 and expanded, but keep tabling," Shiloh said. "I guess that nuclear war hasn't broken out is a great thing. Like everyone else, I wish the threat would go away. But there's always unsettling news, (and) it just keeps popping up. It's like a ghost that can't rest." First, Shiloh finished "Pookoo", a satire of celebrity culture. Began in 1991, he published it finally in 2008. The Revised Edition is set for release in the near future. Readers from 15 countries have downloaded the book in a free e-book from Shiloh's sites. "I'm extremely happy with the book ("Pookoo") and the start of a global journey and there's some exciting things on the horizon for it," Shiloh added. "The most logical thing is to complete 'Eyewitness' and then move on to 'Pilgrim.' He's not saying the 300+ days left self-made countdown will be stopped, just that one more book needs attention. "Plus, there's still events that are happening, like with the economic crisis, that I want to address in the new novel." Shiloh says that planning his work, for as long as he has, enables him to prepare which project will be next and allows for a reader to follow a certain narrative that is deliberate. He also enjoys keeping the reading public off guard and says he owes it to them to not just crank out duplicates. "Some might think it's a stretch to go from a satire on celebrity, with dark comedy to an anti-war work, but satire has roots in protest." # # # Homefield Multimedia is a multimedia group using new media technology, publishing books, CDs and DVDs.
