Jan. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- AUSTIN, Texas – In today’s society people are constantly striving for excellence. They are always looking for the next big thing or for a way to become rich and powerful. In reality people are just trying to become and stay successful. This is called “worldly success,” and a search for it can lead to more harm than good. People spend their lives working to chase that so called “American Dream.” They get to a certain point and they realize that success is not enough.

Enter the father and son team of Bill and Billy Moyer of Waco, Texas, authors of the new book, Seeds of Success: A Journey from Success to Significance (The Leading Edge Publishing Company, Dec. 2008). This is not a typical self-help book. It does not list the keys to success or give ideas for how to become a millionaire. In essence it is about what it says in its sub-title, “A Journey from Success to Significance” taken by a young man in search of authentic manhood.

Seeds of Success is really just a story, filled with other stories to make the points of the authors. A college student is given one last assignment in his final semester. He must interview influential and most of all successful people from his past and present, in order to write a final paper detailing the keys to success. The student is struggling in his life and is unsure of what he wants to do or who he wants to be? The assignment becomes an “ah ha” moment for the student, as he finds out that the key to success is not success at all, its significance, which is figuring out what matters most in ones life. The crux of the story is that the student interviews his father four times instead of four different people. His father lived a successful life, but more importantly, he lived a significant life after he realized the hard way what matters most.

Bill and Billy Moyer have combined to write a book that is intended to be a wake up call for struggling leaders. “In Seeds of Success, Bill & Billy Moyer are able to create a deeper, richer meaning for the word success,” said Patrick Morley, best-selling author of The Man in the Mirror. “They do this eloquently by using true, inspirational stories to hammer home their points. This breezy, uplifting book will cause Christian men and women of all ages to take a look in the mirror, and redefine what matters most!”

Billy Moyer is the co-founder and president of SOS Leadership Institute, a company that develops the Heart and Soul of the Christian Leader by providing Christian leadership training, development, coaching, and speaking. He has a bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and is pursuing a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. He currently resides in Austin.

Bill Moyer is currently the executive director for the National Fellowship of Catholic Men, a national non-profit organization that serves Catholic men’s faith groups by providing resources, leadership training, and communications. Before being appointed to this position, Bill spent 23 years as a senior executive in the Paul J. Meyer Companies including Success Motivation International, Leadership Management International and Church Growth International. He is also a successful entrepreneur building two start-up companies. He has served as a turn-around specialist for four companies and has been an executive coach to corporate CEO’s and executives.
