The Windmill Restaurant Fine Dining in Billings MT

The Windmill has long been known in the region as a premier steak and seafood supper club. Their long-time signature item, Prawns, is still being proudly served just the way it was fifty years ago.

Jan. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- The Windmill has relied upon time-honored recipes for their sauces, batters and cooking techniques. When The Windmill re-opened in October of 2006, we set out from the very beginning to duplicate the same great menu items that made the Windmill Supper Club famous. Today, we now also proudly serve Certified Angus Beef brand as our choice for steaks and burgers. Only 8% of beef is flavorful, tender and juicy enough to meet the brand’s standards, so enjoy the best tasting beef available.

Are the prawns and ribs the same?

Absolutely. Not only did we bring over the same recipes and food purveyors, long-time Windmill Supper Club owner John Novasio personally made sure that everything remained the same. Our culinary staffs number one goal is to insure that the sauces, batters and ingredients used are the same today as they were at the Windmill Supper Club. As John would say, "if it ain't broke, don’t fix it!"

What is the dress code?

Casual – whether it’s a romantic dinner, a company gathering or a girl’s night out, we want you to be comfortable and relaxed during your experience at The Windmill.

Are reservations required?

Reservations are recommended but not required. Our bar and patio are both designated as 100% for walk-ins and both offer full menu dining service. The Windmill also has overflow capability for walk-ins in our conference room for up to 50 people. So don’t be discouraged if when you call and our reservation book is full, as we have the capability to offer walk-in seating for up to 125 people.

Can I eat in the Bar or on the Patio?

We offer our full lunch and dinner menus as well as our appetizer menu in both locations.

Do you have a kid’s menu?

We offer a limited children’s menu for both lunch and dinner.

Can I reserve a Conference Room?

The Windmill offers private dining from 6 to 45 people. We offer three separate private dining rooms that can be either combined for large groups or closed off for smaller parties. Our conference rooms can be reserved in advance by contacting a member of Windmill management and they can help with room availability as well as menu planning. Our conference rooms have been used for corporate planning sessions, fraternal organizations, family get-togethers and social events.

Where did the large windmill in front of the restaurant come from?

It came from a farm in Wares, North Dakota. It is called a basket weave windmill and is over 70 years old. It was a common site in the plains of North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. A farmer would personalize the top of their windmill with a character of whatever type of ranching or farming enterprise they operated.
