The Fall Guard Bed/Chair Alert System with Disposable Alarm Pad alerts you when weight is removed from the pad. If the patient gets up to wander or falls out of bed, you will know about it quickly. The Fall Guard Alert Systems consists of 2 parts: A Tamper-Proof Alert Monitor with Caregiver's Key Disposable Pressure Pad The two parts connect with a telephone-like cord. The Alert Monitor plugs into an electrical outlet with the included AC Adapter or it can be powered with a 9 volt battery (not included). Unique Features: Caregiver's Key - If you choose this option, the Tamper-Proof Alert Monitor can only be de-activated with a Caregiver's Key. This way patients cannot turn it off or disable it. Voice Prompt - Once a person is laying on the bed pressure pad, if they attempt to get up again, the alert monitor can be set to announce one of the following before the alarm goes off: "Please lie back down" "Please sit back down" Often this prompt is enough to persuade the patient to sit or lie down again. Automatic Reset - Prevents caregiver from accidentally leaving the system turned off after silencing the alarm. All the controls are within the Alert Monitor. They are purposefully difficult to get at so that the patient cannot change them easily.
