European Web Site Becomes First To Make Audited Data Available Daily Through BPAEuropean media owner Eurasia Press has become the first in the world to publicly report daily web site data using BPA Worldwide and Nielsen Online’s joint web site audits.
By: Coco Communications The two companies announced in September that they would work together to deliver enhanced website traffic measurement data alongside print and trade show audit data, providing daily online reporting of audited web activity. The tag-enabled web analytics service includes an interactive tool through which a few sites so far, of which Eurasia’s Oilandgaseurasia.com site is the first, have made their data available to the public. “As publishing moves ever more into the digital space, standardized and reliable measurement of audience reach is a must,” Eurasia Press president Pat Davis Szymczak said in a statement. “The industry has very much embraced this opportunity to measure their entire brand. This ‘integrated pricing, integrated media’ approach is vital to BPA’s mission to lead the world in media auditing. And that mission could only becomes truly validated when we can say ‘whatever the channel,” explains Stuart Wilkinson, BPA’s Managing Director for EMEA. “It ‘s very encouraging to see BPA’s European publishing members participating in providing open and transparent audited site measurements, which reflects existing open measurements in other media. As a global leader in media monitoring, Nielsen Online is an ideal partner to work with the BPA and its members”, said Ben Mein, UK Director of Web Analytics.” There is no fee for the service. Publishers and media buyers and advertisers may register with BPA in exchange for a user name and password granting access to all BPA-audited traffic data. This is the same system currently in use for BPA’s online circulation statement library. According to BPA, Arcat.com and Paintandcoatings.com are also providing “live” traffic data, and more than 250 other member titles are in the process of doing the same.
