Jan. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Tim Johannes of Blue Vision TV Mirror in Lake Zurich, IL has created one of the most interesting pieces of technology I have ever seen. He has actually taken a 42” LCD TV and hidden it inside a mirror. He made sure it was able to be hooked up to a computer also. When I visited his showroom he was surfing the net on a 46” LCD TV Mirror.

I asked what he uses this one for and he said a lot of companies are buying this 46” LCD HDTV hidden in the mirror for corporate boardrooms. He said they’re very popular for boardrooms because of the convenience factor. When nobody is in the boardroom, the TV Mirror is off so it’s just a nice looking mirror on the wall. When people meet in the boardroom, they turn on the mirror and voila a 46” LCD HDTV pops through the mirror. Tim has these from 15” Mirror TV’s to 65” TV Mirrors.

Companies are using them for power point presentations. How impressive would that look if you were able to do a power point presentation through a 52” LCD HDTV mirror? Tim says companies do it all the time but it’s not limited to just corporate board rooms. He said many people mount these over their fireplace. They create a great aesthetic look for wall décor. During the daytime the TV is off and the mirror is just a mirror. But, when dad comes home and wants to watch the news, he just turns on the mirror. I have to laugh when I say he just turns on the mirror. Sounds a little crazy but it sure looks like a great TV.

I asked Tim what are some other places people use these and what do they use them for? He said many bars or taverns use them over the bar. It keeps people at the bar when the games on. He said barber shops and beauty salons use them all the time. It keeps the customer happy watching TV while he gets his hair cut. It keeps the barber happy also because they don’t have to make so much small talk anymore. When the customer gets up to pay for the cut, the tip is generally a little larger for the experience. Makes you want to go out and put these in your barber shop or beauty salon doesn’t it?

In Tim’s experience the most difficult thing about the Mirror TV industry is getting the word out about what he does. There are a lot of people out there buying an LCD TV or a Plasma TV when they could get a TV Mirror and have all the extra applications along with it. Tim said he has one in his bathroom so when he shaves in the morning he can catch up on the news. Now that’s convenience.
