| XYLO pre-launch website receives overwhelming responseAround 1.75 lakh total visits registered since launch
The Mahindra XYLO, which is scheduled to launch in January 2009, blends the style and sophistication of a sedan with the ruggedness of an SUV, resulting in a truly versatile car that cuts across segments. “We wanted to create a lot of anticipation and buzz around the XYLO even before its launch! The amazing response the site has received in just one month is a clear indication of the tremendous interest generated around the Mahindra XYLO. In fact, Alexa, a web information company, places www.mahindraxylo.co.in amongst the top 5,000 websites in India and amongst world’s top three lakh websites. Moreover, the blogs and social media sections of the site have alone resulted in over 41,000 hits,” said Mr. Vivek Nayer, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Blogs, discussion forums and social media sites across the World Wide Web have been buzzing with posts related to the Mahindra XYLO since the site went live with auto enthusiasts from across the country expressing interest in the vehicle. The interactive site features videos, interviews, photographs, media coverage and a unique social media section with links to Facebook, Orkut, Del.icio.us and Digg. Highlights include a behind the scenes look at the world-class robotised assembly for the Mahindra XYLO, a sneak peek at different parts of the vehicle and several news articles. Visitors can also view a special interview of world renowned car photographer, Lou D’Angelo from Australia who was commissioned to photograph the XYLO. Lou shares his experience of photographing the vehicle in all its glory and his first impressions of the Mahindra XYLO. There are interesting contests as well to encourage customer engagement and interactivity, viz. ‘Win a Xylo’ contest in which the winner has to correctly guess the price of the car as well as the ‘Create your own Bumper sticker’ contest in which the winners get to win Xylo T shirts every week. Test drives can also be booked via the site.
