A Trilogy in the Making

Dec. 22, 2008 - PRLog -- Even before the book series is released, SWSI has bought the movie rights for the book series The Nia Trilogy (www.kimberlyware.com), by author Kimberly Ware. The first book, The Age of Innocence, is about a young girl (Nia) that goes through dramatic heart aches and struggles of an alcoholic abusive step father and a crack addict mother. She grows up on her own and finds true love with her boyfriend, Clay while living in the violent streets of the South Bronx, NY.

The Age of Innocence is scheduled to be release in 2009, which will be the same year SWSI will be opening for business. These will be the first drama from the studio, adapted by script writer, Travis Ware. Weathering the Storm and Metamorphosis, the 2nd and third book, will also become films on the “SWSI Film Production Slate” once the books hit the stores in the next few years.

There have been discussions of who should play the role of Nia Chavez, a biracial teenager. They are looking at Parker McKenna Posey to play the role. She is known for her role as Kady Kyle in the 2001 TV Series, My Wife and Kids with Damon Wayans. There have been no movements in approaching her at the moment, for the script is still in development.

The film takes place in the 1980’s, Bronx, NY.  For that look, SWSI will have to create the ethnic look on Bronx, New York in their largest studio sound stage (125 x 260 SF) on the SWSI studio lot. The sound stage will be one of the largest stages in the film industry to date. It’ll be equipped with the actor’s dressing room, shower, and make-up room. On the production side, there will be a production office and conference room within each sound stage for the client.

The first book is now going through the editing process and will be distributed by Lulu.com.
