| Why TARA REED DESIGNS has chosen Printsource New York to Exhibit and Teach in January, 2009.Artist Tara Reed will be exhibiting her art and teaching "How to Get Started in Art Licensing" at the Printsource New York show, January 13-15, 2009
Artist Tara Reed sees the writing on the wall. “The economy isn’t just affecting Wall Street and Main Street business owners,” she explains. “It is affecting every artists trying to make a living with a paint brush, a potter’s wheel and a mouse. As stores close and consumers tighten their spending, that trickles back to manufacturers and artists as well.” With six years experience in licensing she has seen changes in the industry since she began and hears stories about changes that took place before. While teaching artists how to license their work, she also encourages “out of the box” thinking these days. This out of the box thinking for Tara Reed Designs, Inc. is why she is excited to learn more about the fashion and textile industry. “Survival as a working artist depends on looking at what combination of outlets will work for your art.” Reed says. “Although I’ve licensed up to this point, I have a large portfolio of repeat patterns that may lend themselves to flat-fee licenses in the textile industry.” She will find out in January. To learn more about what Tara Reed Designs has to offer, please visit the artist in booth #7. With a broad portfolio of more than 150 themed collections ready to license, Reed will be meeting to discuss future deals. On Tuesday, January 13th at 2:30 pm, she will be found teaching “How to Get Started in Art Licensing” in the Future Café, the education portion of the Printsource New York Show. Tara has a degree in marketing, an entrepreneurial spirit, and extensive technical capabilities in regards to her art and design. These skills, combined with speed and accuracy, make all her business partners smile. # # # Artist Tara Reed licenses art for use on consumer products and teaches artists how to start or grow their art business through eBooks, teaching and speaking.
