Dec. 9, 2008 - PRLog -- Tara Reed Designs, Inc. is excited to be among the first exhibitors in Printsource New York’s Licensing section at the winter show, to be held January 13-15, 2009 at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City.  

Artist Tara Reed sees the writing on the wall.  “The economy isn’t just affecting Wall Street and Main Street business owners,” she explains.  “It is affecting every artists trying to make a living with a paint brush, a potter’s wheel and a mouse.  As stores close and consumers tighten their spending, that trickles back to manufacturers and artists as well.”  

With six years experience in licensing she has seen changes in the industry since she began and hears stories about changes that took place before.  While teaching artists how to license their work, she also encourages “out of the box” thinking these days.

This out of the box thinking for Tara Reed Designs, Inc. is why she is excited to learn more about the fashion and textile industry.  “Survival as a working artist depends on looking at what combination of outlets will work for your art.” Reed says.  “Although I’ve licensed up to this point, I have a large portfolio of repeat patterns that may lend themselves to flat-fee licenses in the textile industry.”
