By: Surender Singh With the eve of Diwali coming to an end, IIPM kept its tradition of keepings things bright and warm around it through its biggest annual B-School fest, Amaze’07. The 26th, 28th and 29th of November formed the noose around which this amazing fiesta of events was tightened. The first day of the event saw the campus abuzz with the enthusiastic crowd of students from colleges in and around Delhi. True to the tradition and still firm on the beliefs behind the existence of IIPM, Amaze’07 started off with the Debate prelims. For the finals the panel of judges, Mr. Mukesh Tyagi (CEO ESSAR), Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri, Prof. Navin Chamoli and Prof. A Sandeep, despite their busy schedule kindly consented to grace the event with their presence. The day followed up with a set of exciting events such as the Treasure hunt which kept the students blood pumping with vigor and passion. A number of literary events such as the Business Quiz, Flipback, Ad-zap, Creative writing, Business Plan, etc followed up the days ahead with each evening promising a sensational finish to the days. The evenings saw a flurry of amazing events such as the Choreography competition, fashion show, IIPM Star, Mr & Ms Amaze which saw some amazing performances from participants from colleges in and around Delhi. The evening glittered with the gleam of the celebrity judges who came out for these events such as the famous Ms Anamika Singh, the famous choreographer for the movie Fanaa who judged the choreography competition, Mr. Irfan from Voice of India who judged the IIPM Star, Ms Urvashi Kaur, Mr Bobby Grover, Mrs Suman Tyagi who judged the Fashion show. The presence of some of the eminent personalities from the corporate world such as Mr. Mukesh Tyagi, CEO Essar and Mr. Ashok Bajpai, GM Yum Foods, Country Head, Taco Bell, added the girth to the glamour and glitter of our celebrity panelists. The final night of Amaze’07 saw an absolutely sensational performance from Pritam's band "METRO" followed by a hot and exciting performance from the gorgeous Tata Young, the Diva from Bangkok The students enjoyed the whole event which was covered by a number of media houses and left a mark in the minds and hearts of the people who witnessed this amazing and exciting event. IIPM Delhi A-Maze 2006 On the 27th and 28th of November 2006, New Delhi was witness to the liveliest B-School festival A-MAZE'06, presented by The Indian Institute of Planning and Management, one of the premier business schools in India. A-maze is beyond just another festival, it is a celebration of joy, of success, of relationships- The panel of judges, Prof.Rajita Chaudhuri, Prof.Navin Chamoli and Prof.Abhimanyu Ghosh, despite their busy schedule kindly consented to grace the event with their presence. Young blood argued vociferously over the extremely contentious topic "Tiger v/s Dragon"- arguments and counter arguments flowed - until time would silence their voices. In a pleasant turn of events, Director IIPM, Dr.M.K.Chaudhuri accompanied by Director Mam graced the event with their august presence. Other events for instance, think mad (ad zap), x-press-o(extempore) As the sun set and the evening sky glittered in all its glory, IIPM had a star studded panel of judges for the most celebrated events of the day, the Choreography contest - Whirl Cool and Mr & Ms Amaze. Vikram Solanki and Kabir Ali - heart throbs from the English cricket team - and supermodel Angad Bedi were faced with the daunting task of deciding the top performers of the day in the Choreography contest. Out of shame, the stars went into hiding behind dark clouds as Ms. Naina Balsawar (ex miss-india), Ms. Neelam Rudy and a young and ambitious woman politician Ms. Avneet Singh (member, zilla-parishad Ghaziabad) along with the wonderful Prof.Neeta Tripathi took their seats at the judges desk to award the Mr&Ms. Amaze titles to one of the several aspiring candidates. The second day was simply extraordinary, participants turned up in true corporate ishtyle for Win-Dose (the business plan) and Info-Miss (the corporate quiz) and we watched in amazement as these intellectual let their hair down and lost themselves in the timeless melodies of Kishore and Pancham Da, sing to win seemed the statement for the day. The venue moved to Mittal Gardens, people poured in, the foot-fall was quiet staggering, and they had all come to watch the flamboyant fashion show. Mumtaz and Pallavi, reputed jewellery designers and panelists at the Lakme India Fashion week awarded the first prize to IIPM for their scintillating performance. Jal - our brothers from across the border - belted out numbers like Aadat and Tere Bin to which crowds cheered and danced. Those in love, fell in love again and the less fortunate ones fell in love with love. Amidst chants of once more and we love you, the night faded, noise gave way to a golden silence, as the crowd dispersed every soul that had been a part of this experience had just one thing to say "Truly Amazing". On that night IIPM truly rocked. # # # The IIPM programme is today regarded as the only course with a WIDER COVERAGE than MBA/MBE courses taught anywhere else in the country because of its integration with National Economic Planning and a compulsory Marketing Specialization making it the most INTELLECTUALLY STIMULATING course globally”.
