Dec. 4, 2008 - PRLog -- “The concerned consumer cares enough about social, environmental and ethical issues to change their purchasing behaviour,” is the belief stated by The Times (http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/leisure/article5240824.ece) this week. And we couldn’t agree more at Mars Drinks.

That’s why our KLIX (http://www.klix.com/klix/en-GB/Productsandsolutions/Drinks/Full-Range/) hot drinks vending machines offer you a wide range of fair-trade tea and coffee, enabling you to enjoy a refreshing drink, while knowing that you are helping others.

Quoted in the article, David Lourie, analyst at Good Business (http://www.goodbusiness.co.uk/) - the ethical consultancy said, “If a company can convince consumers they can stick to their values during the hard times, they will stick with them when they come out the other side of the recession.”

It is also good to know that, “as recently as February, nearly 70% of ethically aware consumers said they would still try to buy the most ethical and environmentally friendly products even at a little extra cost.” Sadly, this figure seems to be in decline – partly a result of the current economic downturn, but also linked with consumers losing their confidence in some providers.

It’s vital at all times for companies to focus on the positive aspects of supporting sustainable business – something that should be celebrated and not seen as a chore.
