By: Tigerlily Foundation Complementing its Chemobuddy Program, Tigerlily Foundation plans to deliver Let’s Dish! meals to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. Let’s Dish!, a retail meal preparation business, offers healthy, fresh meals. In order to help take the burden off women who are recovering from breast surgery, chemotherapy or radiation, their families can contact Tigerlily Foundation to discuss the families’ needs. Tigerlily Foundation then works with Let’s Dish!, to have the meals prepared and shipped to the patients’ door. Let’s Dish!’s meals are made ready to serve 2-3 people or 4-6 people. The meals can be ordered 4, 8 or 12 at a time. With this service in place, women going through treatment and recovery will not have the added concern of having to prepare meals. Using code F9-Tigerlily at any store, Let’s Dish will donate 10% to Tigerlily Foundation. Elizabeth Marcotte, Co-owner of five Metro DC area Let’s Dish! stores is excited about working with Tigerlily Foundation to help women affected by breast cancer. With a personal and family history of breast cancer, she has a strong commitment to helping others affected by the disease. Marcotte recalls, “I was so lucky to be surrounded by loving friends who helped out with meals for the family when I was focusing on recovering from extensive surgery. I can’t imagine what I would have done without the support. Let’s Dish! has the healthy meals and Tigerlily knows who needs them. It’s a perfect match!” Tigerlily’s founder, Maimah Karmo, a survivor of breast cancer feels that “women really need this type of assistance. When I was going through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, it was a blessing to have my mother and other family members prepare healthy meals for me. Many people do not have anyone to help, they might have a large family to feed and often can not afford or have the time to purchase and prepare healthy meals. Working together with Let’s Dish!, Elizabeth and Tigerlily Foundation can combine their respective passions to make life easier for women who need help.” To find out more about this program, visit www.tigerlilyfoundation.org and go to our Programs Page.
